v1.5.0 - October 30, 2026
Labs, SupaView and Current Tab Pill
Release Notes
SupaSidebar 1.5.0 brings an Arc-style pill for your current tab, a fuller Space menu, one key for Compact Mode and a new Labs page with two features to try early.
What's New
- Labs - A new Labs page in Settings lets you try new beta features early. They're part of Pro, and each one is free for 30 days.
- Open Links From Other Apps in SupaView (Labs) - Make SupaSidebar your default browser and links from Slack, Mail or Terminal open in a small floating window.
- Stay Signed In to SupaView (Labs) - Import your browser's logins so sites in SupaView open signed in, and keep them in sync.
- Archived Tabs (Labs) - Have tabs you stop using close on their own and wait in an archive for 30 days, ready to reopen.
- SupaView From the Command Panel - ⇧Return now opens a Command Panel result in SupaView, and Settings lets you swap it with ⌘Return.
- SupaView Links for Raycast and Alfred - Open any page or web search in SupaView from Raycast, Alfred or another app with a supasidebar://peek link.
- Recall Past Searches - Press the Up arrow in an empty Command Panel to bring back your recent searches, newest first.
- Open Sites Stay Visible in Closed Folders - A closed folder now shows the site you're on beneath it, like Arc, and every open site it holds when Hide Saved Tabs is on.
Improvements
- Peek Is Now SupaView - The small floating window for links is now called SupaView everywhere in SupaSidebar.
- One SupaView Window per Link - Each link now opens in its own SupaView window, like Little Arc, instead of replacing the one already open.
- Slimmer SupaView Toolbar - SupaView's toolbar is now slimmer, and its Open button's menu lists your browser profiles and Default Browser.
- SupaView Keyboard Shortcuts - ⌘W now closes a SupaView window, and ⌘O opens its page in your browser.
- Arc-Style Current Tab Pill - The page your browser is on now always gets a rounded pill in Saved, Live Tabs and pinned tabs, with no setting to turn on.
- Fuller Space Menu - Right-click a Space icon or empty sidebar space to switch Spaces, paste a link, add a folder, change its color or delete it.
- One Key for Compact Mode - ⌘\ now collapses and expands Compact Mode, and Settings lets you leave ⌘[ and ⌘] to your browser's Back and Forward.
- Browser Shortcuts Stay Out of Other Apps - Smart Save, Smart Copy and other browser and Finder shortcuts now only take their keys while a browser or Finder is in front.
- Command Panel Starts Fresh - After you open or search something, the Command Panel now opens empty instead of showing your last query.
- Arc-Like Space Bar - Space icons now sit centered between Trash and +, and spread out as the sidebar gets wider.
- Cleaner Clicks in the Sidebar - Clicking a row no longer leaves a grey cursor behind, and the arrow keys still show it when you need it.
- SupaView Remembers Its Size - SupaView now keeps the size you set, even after you restart SupaSidebar.
- Dismiss the Drag to Pin Hint - The "Drag to pin" box now has an X, and Appearance settings can bring it back.
- New Tab Button Matches Your Tabs - The New Tab button now has the same height, icon and text size as the live tabs below it.
- Search Bar Lines Up With Your Rows - The Search links bar now lines up with your sidebar rows, with a small margin and rounder corners.
Bug Fixes
- Live Tabs no longer goes blank after you open a link in a Chrome, Brave or other Chromium browser profile.
- Live Tabs now shows a loading placeholder while you switch Spaces, instead of another profile's tabs.
- Safari profile tabs in Live Tabs no longer stay empty after you jump to a full-screen window.
- Switching to a Space linked to a Chrome or Safari window in full screen or on another Desktop now goes to that window instead of opening a new one.
- Hovering links from the same site, like YouTube videos, now shows each link's own preview image instead of the same one.
- Clicking a folder twice quickly now opens and closes it instead of starting a rename.
- Opening or closing a folder no longer flickers.
- Keyboard shortcuts in the sidebar now work right after you leave Compact Mode.
- Renaming a link or folder in a tinted Space now shows dark, readable text instead of white text on a light box.
- An Air Traffic Control open rule with no website and no Space no longer catches every link, and now shows "Needs a space".
- Deleting a Space now also removes the Air Traffic Control rule linked to it.
- Clicking anywhere on a Space header now opens and closes it, not just its name.
- Saved links and live tabs now show favicons at the same size, and live tab favicons are no longer dimmed.
- Live Tabs browser headers now use up and down arrows to reorder, so moving down no longer looks like collapsing.
- A faint Space tint in dark mode no longer shows white arrows next to dark text.
- Opening a SupaView page in your browser now opens the page you're on, not the link the window first opened.
- Open Tab in Other Browser now works in Wavebox, Helium, Dia, Comet, Zen and browser betas.
