More Privacy Control, Easier Browsing, Better Performance

SupaSidebar 1.2.0 lets you search your browser history, select multiple sidebar items, and choose which browsers contribute Live Tabs, recent activity, and history. New privacy controls let you pause activity recording or clear imported history while keeping your saved links. Major performance improvements bring up to 84% less time reading browser tabs, up to 37% less time preparing search results, and 55% less time matching links in Smart Folders.

What's New

• Search Browser History: Find visits from the last 30 days in supported browsers, including visits made while SupaSidebar was not running. Imported history is stored locally on your Mac.
• Privacy & Browsers: Control Live Tabs, Recent activity, and history importing separately for each browser. Pause activity capture with SupaSidebar's Private Mode, block browsers, or clear imported history without deleting saved links or changing your browser's own history.
• Sidebar Selection: Select multiple items, including Live Tabs, enter selection from context menus, and select folder contents. Clearer selection controls make it easier to finish selecting and return to normal browsing.
• Permission Status: See Accessibility and browser Automation permission status in Preferences, which features depend on them, and where to resolve missing permissions.
• Recommended Section: A new section at the top of Command Panel search results brings together the best matches from Live Tabs, saved links, and recent visits.
• Settings in the Command Panel: Search for a setting and open it directly from the Command Panel.

• Search Indexing: 96% less time adding a page to an existing search index compared with rebuilding it.
• Smart Folders: 55% less time finding matching links across multiple Smart Folders.
• Resume Where You Left Off: Reopen the Command Panel within 60 seconds to return to your category, search, selected result, and scroll position. After 60 seconds, it starts fresh in All.
• Stable Live Tab Order: Live tabs refresh their browsing order when you reopen the panel. While it is open, existing tabs keep their order, new tabs are added, and closed tabs disappear. Typed searches continue to sort by relevance.
• Visible Index Updates: A thin progress bar below the search field shows when the local search index is updating.
• More Efficient Long Lists: Reduced repeated work when preparing, grouping, and navigating large result lists.
• Better Search Ranking: Improved matching and scope-aware ranking across saved pages, recent visits, and imported history.
• Live Tabs Updates: Reduced repeated browser-reading and sidebar-rendering work. Tab changes received during an ongoing refresh are retained for a follow-up refresh, and results from retired browser sessions are discarded.
• Smart Attach: The sidebar docks to the screen edge until an eligible browser gains focus, with improvements to following browser movement.
• Getting Started: Refreshed learning cards and optional sidebar learning and customization prompts.
• Space Navigation: Refined hover enlargement and readability in the compact Space bar.

Based on selected internal component benchmarks against earlier implementations or full rebuilds. These measure the named operations, not total app response time. Results vary by browser and library.

Bug Fixes

• Trashed saved pages no longer appear in Recent, All, or website browse results as local saved/recent entries. A page still open in your browser remains available in Live tabs.
• Removing a saved page from Recent no longer lets it reappear through stale fallback results; the saved bookmark is preserved.
