v1.4.0 - October 27, 2026
Tab History, Custom Top Bar, and Smarter Spaces
Release Notes
SupaSidebar 1.4.0 makes the sidebar feel more like Arc's. Let Spaces follow the browser window you're using, step back and forward through your recent tabs, see which saved link is the tab you're on, and arrange the top bar your way.
What's New
- Back and Forward Through Tabs - New top bar arrows step through the tabs you used recently, in any browser, and right-click lists them.
- Back and Forward Shortcuts - Set optional shortcuts to go back or forward a tab, across every browser or within the current Space.
- Show Open Tabs in Saved - A saved link now lights up while its page is your current tab, like a pinned tab in Arc.
- Hide Saved Tabs From Live Tabs - With Show Open Tabs in Saved on, open tabs that match a saved link can show only in Saved.
- Customizable Top Bar - Drag buttons to add, remove or reorder them in Settings > Appearance > Top Bar, or right-click the top bar.
- Duplicate Tab - Right-click an open tab to open a second copy of it in the same browser.
- Middle-Click to Close Tabs - Middle-click a tab in Live Tabs, in the sidebar or compact mode, to close it.
- Search Shortcuts for Live Tabs and Saved - Two new shortcuts open the command panel straight into Live Tabs or Saved search.
Improvements
- Spaces Follow Your Browser Window - With Switch automatically on, focusing a window from a linked profile now switches to its Space.
- See Why a Space Switched - A short note in the sidebar names the window that caused an automatic switch, with a Stop switching button.
- Spaces Offer to Switch - Focusing a window from another Space's linked profile now asks to switch, unless you picked a different behavior.
- Automatic Switching When You Link a Profile - Linking a browser profile to a Space now turns on Switch automatically if you hadn't chosen a behavior.
- Compact Mode Catches Up - Compact mode now highlights your current tab, follows each Space's linked profile in Live Tabs, and shows switch notes.
- ⌘N or ⌘T in Your Browser - Pick ⌘N or ⌘T to open the Command Panel inside your browser, with ⌘N as the new default.
- Tidier ⋯ Menu - The sidebar's ⋯ menu now groups settings under headings, and holds Full Screen Browser plus any buttons that don't fit.
- Updated Onboarding - New users get a simpler first-run setup that brings over their Arc Spaces and pinned tabs.
Bug Fixes
- Automatic Space switches now leave your browser windows where they are instead of raising or moving them.
Notes
- Selection Mode is no longer in the ⋯ menu. Start it with right-click > Select, or Shift-click and Command-Shift-click rows.
