Frequently asked questions

Where do I find Arc's StorableSidebar.json file?

In Finder choose Go > Go to Folder and paste ~/Library/Application Support/Arc/StorableSidebar.json. That single file holds your entire Arc sidebar - spaces, folders, and pinned tabs. Copy it anywhere (or drop it straight in above) and convert it.

Doesn't Arc have a built-in way to export bookmarks?

No. Arc has no export button - your spaces and pinned tabs only exist inside StorableSidebar.json, a format no other browser can read. That's exactly why this tool exists: it converts that file into standard bookmarks HTML.

Are my pinned tabs and spaces included in the export?

Yes. Every Arc space becomes a top-level bookmark folder, folders inside a space stay nested, and pinned tabs become regular bookmarks - nothing is dropped.

Is my Arc data uploaded anywhere?

No. The file is parsed entirely in your browser with JavaScript - it never leaves your Mac, and we never see its contents.

Which browsers can import the exported file?

Any of them. Import the bookmarks HTML in Chrome, Edge, or Brave via Bookmark manager > Import bookmarks, in Safari via File > Import From > Bookmarks HTML File, and in Firefox via Manage bookmarks > Import and Backup.
